Stay Cool in Gilbert This Summer 2024

Gilbert, Ariz. – As the summer heat rolls in, Gilbert is ready to keep you cool with an array of aquatic events and indoor activities. Here’s how you can beat the heat and enjoy the summer fun in Gilbert.

1. Public Pools in Gilbert

Gilbert’s public pools are the perfect place to cool off from May 25th through July 20th. Entry is just $1 for kids and $3 for adults, with punch cards available for frequent visitors.

    • Greenfield Pool: 35 S. Greenfield Rd
    • Mesquite Aquatic Center: 100 W. Mesquite St.
    • Perry Pool: 1775 E. Queen Creek Rd (Closes July 13th)
    • Williams Field Pool: 1900 S. Higley Rd

 

2. Splash Pass

The Splash Pass gives unlimited access to all Gilbert public pools and Freestone Recreation Center from May 20th to July 20th, 2024. Get your Splash Pass at Freestone Recreation Center, 1411 E. Guadalupe Rd.

    • Youth: $44
    • Adult: $67
    • Senior: $55
    • Household (2 adults & 2 children): $161

 

3. H2O Festival

Join the fun at Gilbert’s H2O Festival, a pop-up water park at Freestone Park on June 6th. Enjoy water slides, food trucks, music, and a giant slip and slide. Sessions are held throughout the day, and tickets are required.

    • Session 1: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
    • Session 2: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
    • Session 3: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

 

4. Frostbitten Camp

Kids ages 5-12 can enjoy a frosty adventure at Frostbitten Camp from June 3rd to June 7th at McQueen Park Activity Center. Activities include building ice palaces, making frosty slime, and enjoying frozen treats. Registration is required.

 

5. Chill with a Cop

Meet local police officers and enjoy a sweet treat at 212 Ice Cream Studio on June 20th from 3-5 PM. Get a 15% discount on your order during the event.

 

6. Learn to Ice Skate

In partnership with AZ Ice, children ages 3-13 can learn to ice skate this July. Suitable for beginners to level 6 skaters, classes run weekly for four weeks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays. Registration is required.

 

7. Indoor Pickleball

Beat the heat with indoor pickleball at Freestone Recreation Center. Enjoy open gym times in an air-conditioned space with day rates starting at $3. Check the schedule before heading over.

 

8. Wiggle Worm Adventures

McQueen Park Activity Center offers a safe and fun indoor play area for kids 6 and under. The play area includes balls, hoops, ride-on toys, tunnels, and a soft play area. Drop-in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM until August 2nd. Resident fee is $1.50 (with valid Gilbert ID), and non-resident fee is $2.00.

 

9. Summer Programs

Gilbert Parks and Recreation is hosting over 300 programs this summer, ranging from swim lessons and sports to adult education, dance, and art classes. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
